The God of Contrasting Seasons
Elijah felt every bit of humanity in that moment. He felt lost hopes, broken dreams, devastating insecurities, and heartbreaking failures. In his terrified state, he hit his spiritual rock bottom. And it hurt. But God is still God, no matter what season we go through. He’s the God of all-consuming fire as much as He is the God of quiet whispers.
A Prayerful Poem to God: “But Shouldn’t I Be a Flower By Now?”
“You are like a bloom, Kaylee,” I heard God tell me this morning. And of course, with my 26th birthday looming a month away, I thought to myself, “But shouldn’t I be a flower by now?”

Repair Your Altar
My “altar”—my place and process of meeting with God, worshipping Him, and hearing from Him—was broken.
And in even more full-blown transparency, it’s the reason why The Found Woman has been offline for a couple of months. I’d love to say it was for Sabbatical reasons, but . . . it wasn’t.
But this isn’t about me.
This is about God, telling me—telling us, His beloved daughters—to repair our altars.
Find a new quiet time routine that works for you.
Find new ways to pray to Him throughout the day.

Dirt, Stones, and Outstretched Hands: A Study on the Promiscuous Girl in John 8
I used to read this passage of Scripture and think nothing of it, really. Maybe I thought that I couldn’t relate to that woman thrown into the dirt and into the middle of a crowd that had gathered to see Jesus, not a woman accused and stoned.
I couldn’t relate to her shame, fear, guilt, and self-esteem. I couldn’t relate to the feeling of being thrown into the dirt in front of strangers...

So You're Stuck in a Rut? You’re Not Alone
The “New Year Kaylee” was full of hope and light and joy. She was excited to dedicate January to sitting down with God and planning for the year. For this ministry. For many new and exciting things.
She had her planners laid out neatly. Pens clicked and ready. Music on and jamming. Everything was ripe
—until one day.

Personal Bible Study: Transforming into God’s Proverbs 31 Woman
Perhaps, instead of believing it impossible to measure up to the Proverbs 31 woman, we should simply aim to be more like Christ. And through the process, God will not only dole out back to us measures of Christlikeness—“pressed down, shaken together, and running over”—but measures of the Proverbs 31 woman, also.

Name Change! Lean into the Name God Has for You
I don’t know what the names are that you call yourself in the middle of the night when you’re lying awake in bed. I don’t know the stories you believe about yourself when you look in the mirror and see your reflection. I don’t know the excuses you think of when someone compliments you to counteract what they see in you. But I do know this: God calls us as He sees us—not as we see ourselves.

Happy New Year! How to Plan Your 2025 with God
Feeling sick or scared of the new year is normal. However, left unchecked, it can lead us into procrastination and leave us as poor stewards of our time, resources, and energy—things that God has given us to bring Him glory and bring about our good.
Whether you’re excited for 2025 or you’re dragging your feet from 2024, here are 3 ways to plan with God for your 2025.

Here Comes This Dreamer
Different goals. Different years. Same story.
It’s the story of using the new year as a fresh start for accomplishing new (and old) dreams alike. We’ve all seen this story in our own lives.
As I’ve been re-reading Joseph’s own story in Genesis, I can’t help but notice how dreams played a significant and transformative role throughout his life.
You see, Joseph had big dreams.
Great dreams.

Defining the Greatest Love Story Ever Told
Love.
It’s been a topic desired, pursued, and quoted for ages. It’s been the focus of literature and film and art for just as long.
Why do we love the idea of love?
Perhaps it’s because love gives us a warm fuzzy feeling, like watching a Christmas Hallmark movie where everything is predictable but feels oh so right (and yes, okay, a little cheesy).
